FolkHammer was born out of the gritty coal and steel towns of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Their music carries on the Grand Tradition of a time where the songs told a story and the melody still mattered. No newcomers to the stage, James LeVier, Dave Franzi, David Harley, John Secreto and Ren Hilliard continue paying their dues to the Muse, as well as paying homage to the long-gone era of great Singer/Songwriters that ruled the airwaves. Folk, Rock and Alt/Country, conjuring up a brew that is best heard to be believed. Their 2015 release, ‘Americanas Rex’, is a runaway freight train of songs for the Head and Heart. Ears laid back and making their run, FolkHammer invites you to join them on their journey….Heads Up, and Hang On…

The silhouettes of rusting steel mills. The haunting echos of a long defunct railroad system. The shuttered coal mines of a generation or two ago. And even earlier, a Revolutionary War battle that was won thanks to the sheer tenacity of one Betty Zane. These images serve as a back drop to the Upper Ohio Valley, and provide a physical history of the generations in the past that have led to this moment. America was built here. The tenacity and wherewithal and hard-headedness that flows through the veins of this great place in America is bled out through the music of Zane Run.
